All three Christian companies are exempted from the ACA penalties and have good prices but remember some do not cover prescription drugs or doctors visits. So you may have to budget for these and other "routine" procedures separately. Not a big deal if you are reasonably healthy. So be sure you check what needs you have are covered before making the commitment to a plan.

Things I noticed: CMM has cheapest rates for healthy singles who do not need much, SMI has best coverage for families. Medishare (CCM) requires participation in a PPO network or face penalty so check if PPO providers they are in your area.

Medi-share works most like insurance. Your provider bills Medi-share and MS processes for any deductibles and negotiates discounts for you.

With CMM and SMI you must inform the provider that you have no insurance and to bill you. You must negotiate the bill (ask for discounts /assistance) before submitting the remaining cost to the ministry. (It is more involved but the ministry can explain to you how to do it.)

Missionaries and Christians outside the USA are also eligible. Though cretin arrangements may need to be made as everything is done in English and Dollars. Also their may be restrictions as to your counties regulations and citizenship.

I made my decision and have signed up for the CHM Bronze Plan. It is the cheapest plan available (45 a month) and will exempt me from being fined by the IRS. As I am healthy and do not foresee any health problems for myself. It is a good fit for now. Latter, as my budget permits, I may go for the gold plan and maybe the brothers keeper as the rates are good and all my money will go to those in need. I will get my new membership packet in the mail soon and will report my thoughts on it here.

March 31 was the deadline to buy medical insurance, join a health sharing group, or submit to a Government IRS "tax". There may be exemptions for your local area or situation though.
